Marshall Futureworx, part of the Cambridge-based Marshall Group, has a new home at St John’s Innovation Park

Cambridge, 4th July 2022:
St John’s College is delighted to welcome Marshall Futureworx to St John’s Innovation Park, an integral part of the North Cambridge research and development cluster.

Coupled with the power of the Marshall brand, Marshall Futureworx is a standalone team of highly creative engineering talent established to leverage Marshall’s unique engineering skills, experience and reputation to identify and develop a new generation of products and services that address existing and future challenges.

The move to a second floor 2,880 sq ft suite within the Park’s Platinum Building will enable the team to grow its focus on harnessing emerging global trends, technology and partnership opportunities to create start-up enterprises where there is a need for new technologies within a 5-to-10-year timeframe, and a business model that enables that technology to come to market.

Target areas are based on certain mega-trends, and include answering challenges associated with net zero carbon in mobility, integrating AI in ground and air vehicles, and applying technology to support autonomous asset management, maintenance and repair.

Natalie Jones, Business Support Manager, Marshall Futureworx, said: “Being a part of St John’s Innovation Park, and the amazing work it does with scaling up and funding support, will help our business to connect with other exciting Cambridge start-up companies. The collaboration and backing that the Park offers is second to none and an opportunity we couldn’t pass on.

“Being co-located with other forward-thinking and innovative companies is a great way for us to stay on top of the current trends, open up more opportunities, and develop new partnerships.”

Chris Walton, Founder, Marshall Futureworx, added: “Operating from the prestigious St John’s Innovation Park, Marshall Futureworx will continue to take full advantage of being part of the Cambridge ecosystem, as an active member of the city’s start-up scene.”

Suzie Wood, Investment Property Manager, St John’s College, stated: The talented Marshall Futureworx team are now perfectly located within the Cambridge ecosystem, close to academia, established businesses and local start-ups, to continue their great work in turning fresh ideas into new ventures inside Marshall Futureworx.

“We are delighted that they have chosen St John’s Innovation Park as their new home where they’ll be warmly welcomed by our other exciting and innovative R&D and technology organisations such as Samsung, Qualcomm, PwC, DarkTrace, and Raspberry PI.”
